Welcome to Weathersfield Township!

Weathersfield Township is a community of 9,430 people located in the southern portion of Trumbull County, Ohio, bordering Mahoning County. Located in the center of the Mahoning Valley, Weathersfield Township is surrounded by the cities of Niles, Girard, and Youngstown, the Villages of Lordstown and McDonald, and the Townships of Howland, Vienna, Liberty, Austintown, Jackson, and Warren. In addition, Weathersfield Township is within the jurisdiction of the Niles Municipal Court, along with the Village of McDonald and the City of Niles.

In 1974, the people of Weathersfield Township successfully petitioned to have the Township separated from the cities of Niles and Girard. In 1980, the Village of McDonald separated from the Township. Numerous annexations have further reduced the territory of Weathersfield Township to its present size, leaving a community divided geographically into several distinct neighborhoods.

Weathersfield Township is divided into four school districts (Mineral Ridge, Niles, McDonald, and Girard), seven Post Office districts (Mineral Ridge- 44440, Niles - 44446, McDonald - 44437, Girard - 44420, Warren - 44481, and 44484, Austintown - 44515), three telephone districts (Niles, Girard and Warren), and four water service areas (Niles, McDonald, Girard, and the Mineral Ridge Water District).

As a result, Weathersfield Township has developed into "A Community of Neighborhoods," each with its own unique features.
